Ferry tickets are personal. Therefore, in order to issue a ticket, we are required to provide some personal details to the ferry companies (e.g. your name, surname, gender, date of birth, and nationality). Regarding gender, the ferry companies’ booking systems offer a choice between male and female only. This means that we are, unfortunately, not able to include other options. In order to book your tickets, especially when it comes to international ferry routes, you will probably also be required to provide your ID or passport number.
Furthermore, you will be asked to provide a valid phone number, so that ferry companies can reach you in case of a last-minute change to your trip. Your email address is used by Ferryhopper to send the booking confirmation email, which includes all the necessary information for your ferry journey. We will also notify you via email if there are any changes to your trip or if there is anything you need to do regarding your trip. Finally, you can choose to receive our newsletter as well as information on special offers.
We take your privacy very seriously. We are committed to protecting your personal data and we will not use or share it with anyone, except as described in our privacy policy.
Why do you need my personal data when issuing a ferry ticket?
